Our Catalog is Expanding!

 
We’re excited to welcome the Rolling Meadows Library and the Wauconda Area Public Library to our library consortium, a growing network of 34 libraries that share materials. With this addition, we’ll add over 300,000 new items to the catalog—bringing the total collection you can access to more than 5.4 million! Your library card will automatically be registered at Rolling Meadows and Wauconda Area, making it easy for you to visit and explore both libraries.

What to Expect

Services will be limited from Saturday, October 17 through Monday, October 19 as we add these two libraries to our system. Here’s what to expect:

• Checkouts: You can still check out items during this time, but you’ll need your physical library card, so be sure to bring it when you visit!
• Holds: Users will be unable to place holds while the system is unavailable. To place a hold to go active when the catalog is back online, call 847-918-3206 or chat with us.
• Extended Due Dates: Enjoy a little extra time with your items! All due dates will be automatically extended so that nothing is due during the transition.
• Returns: Items returned between October 17 and October 19 will be checked in after October 20.
• Account Access: Account access will be limited, and account changes can’t be made until October 20.
• Catalog Searching: You can search the online catalog, but results won’t be current. If you’re looking for a specific item, give us a call and we’ll check availability for you.

My Account

• Your Library Card Account gives you access to our online catalog, where you can search and view the library's materials.
  • To log in, enter your library card number (no spaces) or username if you've set one up, and then your password.
  • For more information on your password, see below.
  • When you log in you will be able to check borrowed items and their due dates, place holds, pay fines/fees, etc.
  • Any library card from the CCS consortium, or one that has been previously entered into our system in person, may be used to log in.
• Your Events Account is through our online calendar and is a separate account from your Library Card Account.
  • If you enter your library card number and password to register for events, you can also use it to edit or cancel those events online. 
  • If you did NOT use your library card number to register, click on the "Reference" tab and enter your last name and the code that is in the confirmation you received via email or text to view or cancel your reservation.
  • If those options do not work, please contact the library.
• Your Rooms Account allows you to book meeting rooms or study rooms online.
  • A Fremont Library Card is required to access room reservations.
  • All other cardholders may only reserve rooms on a walk-in basis.
• Learn & Explore: Your card also gives you access to various library apps for free! Use the same password as you use for your Library Card Account to log on. A Fremont Library Card is required. Different apps also require you to enter your email address and perhaps choose a new password for just that app. For more information, click on the app's Help page.
