Kathleen Rooney, author of Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk, presents the stories behind her latest historical novel, Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey, based on true events of the Battle of the Meuse-Argonne in 1918. She will discuss both the heroic pigeon and the courageous Army officer, and how these two once famous, but now mostly forgotten figures came to inspire her most recent book.
