The library has PC computers equipped with Internet access, word processing, electronic reference resources and educational learning programs in the Adult and Youth Services departments. Computers are available on a walk-in basis. To ensure fair and equal access for everyone, we use a reservation system when all computers are in use. If no computers are available, go to the department service desk to reserve the next available computer.
Please keep in mind:
The library offers free laptops on the second floor. They are equipped with Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft Office 2016, Edge & Chrome Internet Browsers, Temporary Storage, Skype, and Windows Media Player.
A wired mouse, SD card reader and headphones are available for checkout with the laptop.
For patron convenience we have charging stations on each floor with cords for USB, microUSB, iPhone, iPad, and European plugs. Please ask at a service desk if your device needs charging.
Our iMac station allows you to convert your analog media—VHS videocassettes and audiocassettes—to digital files at no cost. Files are converted in real time. You will need to bring headphones and a USB device or a blank disc to save your files. This station is for digital conversion only, and is equipped with the following software:
We also have an adaptor for VHS-C and Super VHS-C camcorder tapes.
Printing is available from library computers on both floors. The charge is 10 cents per page for black & white, and 50 cents per page for color.
We have copy machines located on each floor of the library. The charge is 10 cents per page for black & white, and 50 cents per page for color.
Any of our copiers are able to scan to a USB storage device. The copiers work well for documents up to 12x18 and multiple pages, as they have a document feeder attachment.
We also have a document scanner connected to a computer so documents can be easily uploaded to the internet. This scanner requires page-by-page scanning, and can handle up to 8.5x14 size paper. This workstation has Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 software available. Ask at the Reference desk for a pass to use the scanner. There is no charge for scanning.
The Kodak photo scanner will safely scan up to 25 photos at a time so you can save the files to a USB drive. There is a flat-bed scanner for larger or more delicate photographs as well. The scanner is available for 2 hours at a time; ask at the Reference Desk for access. It's free!
The library offers free WiFi service throughout the library. A password is required to access our network; you can get access at any of the service desks, and the password is posted throughout the library.
